Job Description

As a Veterinary Doctor, you will play a crucial role in preserving the health and well-being of a wide variety of animals. This position demands a compassionate and knowledgeable individual who possesses expertise in diagnosing and treating a range of animal illnesses and injuries. You will have the chance to work with domestic pets as well as exotic and farm animals. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough examinations to diagnose illnesses or injuries in animals.
  • Administer vaccinations and provide preventive care for animals of all types.
  • Create treatment plans and prescribe medication for a variety of animal conditions.
  • Perform surgical procedures, ranging from routine to complex operations.
  • Provide emergency care and triage services as needed within the practice.
  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians and staff to maximize clinic efficiency.
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care and disease prevention strategies.
  • Maintain comprehensive medical records and documentation for each animal patient.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant animal health laws and ethical guidelines.
  • Participate in continued education and professional development opportunities.
  • Manage a clean, sanitized, and organized work environment, including surgical areas.
  • Offer grief counseling or end-of-life care discussions with pet owners.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid veterinary license to practice in the applicable state or region.
  • Proven experience working as a veterinarian in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • Strong diagnostic skills to efficiently manage various animal diseases and injuries.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with pet owners and staff.
  • Compassionate demeanor with the ability to handle animals patiently and gently.
  • Availability for flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends when needed.
