Zurich North America is hiring a Vendor Management Consultant to join our Zurich Resilience Solutions team! This is a remote position and can be located anywhere in the U.S.This person will need to have experience in the Vendor Mangement area including dealing with developing and enforcing vendor Service Level Agreements, our preferred candidate will have experience in RFP or RFI events.
Manages Risk Engineering vendor programs in concert with the vendor management director. Will leverage relationships, knowledge, and existing programs from each entity in the shared service model. This position will plan, evaluate, develop and recommend vendor best practices for service-related metrics, obtain necessary contracts, implement efficient and effective methods of service delivery, negotiate and leverage pricing across Risk Engineering. Is responsible to ensure that programs are reducing loss and expense costs that are aligned with our Global profit initiatives as well as creating more effective vendor to company processes, identifying customer added value services/products and strategic joint alliances with other service providers that create additional customer value for non-core processes. Analyze, interpret and evaluate vendor performance, results and trends, and initiate appropriate recovery plans to improve performance from various vendor programs. Stay abreast of emerging issues that will potentially impact vendor programs and legal compliance with such programs. Monitor the marketplace for program improvements and advancements or investigate new program recommendations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Assists in the negotiation of contracts with vendors.
- Evaluates the reliability of vendors.
- Benchmark industry results versus vendor performance and stay abreast of industry trends and new products/services.
- Possess strong project management core competencies to successfully integrate vendor services and products with Risk Engineering services and procedures.
- Communicate, train and implement new programs effectively across multiple and diverse Risk Engineering segments.
- Ensure vendors comply with contractual Service Level Agreements including report quality, billing accuracy, and timeliness of delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on new technical and operational best practices to optimize efficiency and value of vendor programs.
- Evaluate vendor solutions through disciplined approach via RFI and RFP accepted methodologies

Business Accountabilities:
- Provide expert solutions for key customer(s) with aptitude for products leveraging artificial intelligence and cloud-based services
- Enhance business through consulting with key customers
- Ensures the successful completion of projects by maintaining continuing dialogue with business unit sponsors during implementation of major projects
- Deliver high quality, technical solutions with understanding of task automation, and AI agent implementation
- Diagnose and develop recommendations to solve unique business unit and customer problems, including technological innovations
- Lead complex technical or long-term (over 6 months) business projects to implement new or changed systems, programs or products
- Investigate, recommend and implement leading edge technical solutions when they meet customer needs
Performance Management Accountabilities:

- Coach and provide technical advice and counsel within and outside operating units.
- Provide guidance and support for team members.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Vendor Management area OR
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Vendor Management area AND
- Risk Engineering or project management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Procurement, Vendor Management, or Supply Chain functions
- Demonstrated leadership in managing contract negotiations and managing vendor programs at the category level
Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply—your unique background matters to us. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed Salary range for this position is $87,200.00 - $142,700.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
