Job Description

As a Van Sales Assistant, you will be a key contributor to our dynamic sales team, responsible for ensuring the effective delivery and sale of products directly to our customers. Your role is critical in maintaining and expanding our customer base by building strong relationships and understanding their unique needs. You will be involved in the day-to-day operations of coordinating delivery routes, managing sales logistics, and achieving sales targets. The position demands a proactive individual with an aptitude for sales and customer service, an eye for detail, and an understanding of effective distribution strategies. Your ability to work independently and as part of a team will be pivotal to driving success in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and execution of van sales routes efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure the timely loading and unloading of goods for customer deliveries.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential customers.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of sales transactions and delivery logs.
  • Monitor and report on competitor activities and market trends to the sales team.
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets as set by the sales manager.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing and resolving any inquiries or issues.
  • Collaborate with the sales and logistics teams to optimize delivery schedules.
  • Ensure the van is maintained in good and roadworthy condition at all times.
  • Maintain stock levels on the van to meet daily sales and customer demands.
  • Assist in promotional activities and marketing efforts to boost product awareness.
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements and health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required for this role.
  • Proven experience in a sales or sales assistant role is highly desirable.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management skills.
  • Proficiency in basic math and capability to compute sales transactions.
  • Physical stamina to load and unload heavy products during deliveries.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
