Job Description

The Van Sales Assistant is a pivotal role within our sales and distribution team. This position involves the responsibility of managing and enhancing customer relationships through direct sales from a van. You will be actively involved in executing sales strategies, driving revenue growth, and ensuring excellent customer service. As a Van Sales Assistant, you'll be expected to handle product deliveries, manage customer accounts, and strive to meet ambitious sales targets. With a proactive approach and excellent communication skills, you'll work closely with the sales team to identify opportunities for business expansion and customer satisfaction. This role demands a combination of sales acumen, operational efficiency, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Drive the company van and deliver products directly to customers' locations.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships to encourage repeat business.
  • Identify potential new customers and opportunities to increase sales volume.
  • Manage payment collections from customers and issue valid receipts.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily sales, deliveries, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to align with strategies to achieve sales targets.
  • Ensure that all customer inquiries are addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor competitors’ activity and report important information back to management.
  • Conduct regular vehicle checks to ensure the van is in good operational condition.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and company policies while operating the vehicle.
  • Prepare sales reports and provide feedback on customer satisfaction and sales strategies.
  • Assist in other sales-related tasks as assigned by the sales manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in sales is a plus.
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in a field-based environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in various settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse client bases.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
  • Proficiency with mobile and computer technology to process sales orders.
  • A proactive attitude towards meeting and exceeding goals and targets.
