Job Description

As a Used Car Purchaser, you will play a pivotal role in our dealership's inventory management and acquisition strategy. Your primary responsibility will be to seek out and procure vehicles that align with our dealership's sales objectives and customer demand. You will evaluate vehicle condition, history, and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions. This role requires a keen eye for quality, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders, including wholesalers, auctions, and previous vehicle owners. Your expertise will ensure that our inventory is stocked with a diverse range of quality vehicles, ultimately contributing to the dealership's growth and customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Identify and purchase used vehicles that meet our quality and pricing standards.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to forecast buying trends and opportunities.
  • Negotiate purchasing terms with sellers to secure favorable prices and conditions.
  • Inspect vehicles to assess their condition and verify their history and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand inventory needs and customer preferences.
  • Maintain strong relationships with wholesalers, auction houses, and private sellers.
  • Manage administrative processes related to vehicle procurement and inventory management.
  • Keep updated on automotive trends, new models, and industry developments.
  • Utilize digital platforms and auction sites for broadening purchasing avenues.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of all purchases and expenses.
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure smooth transitions from purchase to sale.
  • Adhere to all company policies and legal regulations pertaining to vehicle sales and purchases.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Used Car Purchaser or in a similar automotive purchasing role.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to secure deals at competitive prices.
  • Excellent understanding of automotive mechanics and vehicle evaluation techniques.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and apply findings in purchasing strategies.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management systems and digital auction platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required for test drives.
