Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to join our radiology department, coded as 13N25. This position is vital in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients across various demographics and medical needs. The successful candidate will perform a variety of ultrasound procedures, ranging from obstetric to vascular ultrasound, in a dynamic healthcare environment. You will play a crucial role in assisting physicians with patient diagnosis by delivering clear, detailed ultrasound images and providing excellent patient care. Your expertise will contribute significantly to ensuring that patients receive timely and accurate diagnoses. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, compassionate, and committed to advancing their expertise in the field of ultrasound technology.


Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasound examinations including abdominal, obstetric, and vascular imaging accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare and maintain ultrasound equipment ensuring all tools are sanitized and fully operational.
  • Conduct patient assessments for ultrasound procedures with empathy and thoroughness.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians to provide clear and critical insights from ultrasound findings.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documenting each procedure and all relevant patient data.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines and regulatory requirements during imaging procedures.
  • Explain procedures to patients, providing reassurance and setting expectations professionally.
  • Continue professional development by attending workshops, seminars, and conferences regularly.
  • Utilize image archiving systems effectively for efficient image storage and retrieval.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments and technology enhancements in ultrasound imaging.
  • Assist in developing department procedures to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship and training to new staff members and ultrasound students as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field is required.
  • Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in good standing.
  • Minimum of two years’ clinical ultrasound experience in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Proficient understanding of sonographic procedures including anatomy and pathology.
  • Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate and attentive approach to service.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced medical environment.
