Job Description

As an Ultrasound Technician, you play a critical role in healthcare diagnostics by producing ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for use by physicians. Your expertise in operating ultrasound equipment and interpreting sonographic images will greatly assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires a deep understanding of human anatomy, meticulous attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care. You will interact with patients, explain procedures, and ensure comfort during examinations, all while maintaining clear and comprehensive patient records. The position demands strong interpersonal skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to work collaboratively with medical teams to provide high-quality ultrasound imaging services.


Responsibilities

  • Operate ultrasound equipment proficiently to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining procedures and answering questions.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the ultrasound examination process.
  • Maintain clean and organized ultrasound equipment and laboratory area.
  • Review and analyze ultrasound findings in collaboration with radiologists and physicians.
  • Maintain accurate records of all ultrasound procedures and patient interactions.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements and techniques in ultrasound technology.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations to protect patients and staff.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to discuss findings or concerns.
  • Perform regular quality assurance checks on ultrasound equipment to ensure functionality.
  • Participate in continuing education programs to enhance skills and remain certified.
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating ultrasound appointments with other medical departments.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited ultrasound program and relevant ARDMS certification.
  • Proven experience as an Ultrasound Technician in a clinical setting required.
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology relevant to ultrasound imaging.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and the healthcare team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when recording and analyzing ultrasound data.
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if required.
