Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual for the dual role of typist and public relations officer. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in both administrative and public-facing tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our communications and documentation processes. As a typist, you will be responsible for the efficient transcription of various documents and correspondence while maintaining high levels of accuracy. Meanwhile, as our public relations officer, you will be the face and voice of our organization, tasked with cultivating a positive public image through strategic communication. Responsibilities

  • Transcribe handwritten and dictated information into word-processing documents efficiently.
  • Ensure all typed documents are accurate and error-free before submission.
  • Develop and maintain a positive public profile for the organization through strategic communications.
  • Prepare press releases and media statements that align with organizational voice and standards.
  • Coordinate press conferences and public events to enhance community engagement.
  • Build and foster relationships with media contacts and key community stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyze public perceptions and media mentions to inform future strategies.
  • Create and distribute internal communications to ensure cohesion and awareness across departments.
  • Handle inquiries from the media and the public, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Assist in managing social media accounts and content marketing efforts to extend brand reach.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on communications strategies.
  • Regularly update and maintain mailing lists and contact databases for media relations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a typist, administrative, or PR role is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional typing speed with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for handling internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and typing software applications is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective PR campaigns and media strategies.
  • A degree in Communications, Public Relations, or relevant field is advantageous.
