The role of a Telecom Technician is critical in ensuring the seamless operation of telecommunication systems and networks. Telecom Technicians are responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining telephone networks, cable systems, and other communication equipment. They are often tasked with resolving issues related to network performance and connectivity. The work involves both on-site fieldwork and remote troubleshooting to ensure that systems function efficiently. Responsibilities

• Install and configure telecommunications systems and equipment for optimal performance.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues affecting telecommunication networks.
• Perform regular maintenance to keep telecommunication equipment in peak condition.
• Conduct tests on equipment and systems to ensure reliability and efficiency.

• Provide on-site and remote technical support to users experiencing connectivity issues.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.

• Offer training and guidance to junior technicians and other team members.
• Stay updated with the latest telecommunication technologies and industry trends.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations to restore telecommunication services efficiently.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; higher technical qualifications preferred.
• Proven experience as a Telecom Technician or in a similar technical role.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems, networks, and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in technical troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
• Experience with using telecommunications testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
