Aldar Education is seeking outstanding Teacher – Inclusion (Primary) for Muna British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing next academic year, 2025-26.

Muna British Academy is relocating to Saadiyat Island. It was recently rated ‘Outstanding’ by ADEK - Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) currently serving over 700 students from Nursery – Year 6 we follow the National Curriculum of England. Next year will see the school grow and open a Year 7 for the first time.

Job Purpose:

Provide early intervention to promote the educational and social development of identified pupil/s under the direction and guidance of the Head of Inclusion.

Teaching and learning:

  • Clear understanding of the British Curriculum.
  • Meeting with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists, if required.
  • Work with the Head of Inclusion to ensure that the learning requirements are met in terms of reasonable adjustments and access arrangements.
  • Planning and delivering interventions, for students of determination across the primary school.
  • Supporting EAL students.
  • Coordinate in-class support for both students of determination and gifted and talented students.
  • Supporting the writing and reviewing of IEP’s to track progress.
  • Updating SEN/POD register.
  • Consolidating data as required across subjects and years.
  • Maintaining G & T register and creating/monitoring Advance Learning Plans.
  • Liaising with teachers to support them and advise on strategies as appropriate.


Assessment and data:

  • Using data provided by assessments to influence further planning, provision and intervention.
  • Providing feedback to parents and carers on a student's progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.


Behaviour management and duties:

  • Follow the school’s established policies and procedures, e.g., behaviour, code of conduct and child safeguarding policy.
  • Manage classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to students’ needs in order to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
  • Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively, when necessary, within the school’s established policies.
  • Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values, and behaviour, which are expected of pupils.
  • Have high expectations of good conduct, promoting self-control and independence of all learners.
  • To ensure a safe and secure environment that allows for appropriate social, emotional, and academic growth for all students.
  • Carry out duties as directed and within the school’s established policies.


Wider professional responsibilities:

  • Support in organizing and taking part in school events, outings and extra-curricular activities (ECAs) which may take place after school hours.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers with regards to student’s achievements and well-being using school systems/processes as appropriate.
  • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
  • Take initiative of own professional development to secure high quality teaching and for successful execution of roles and responsibilities.


REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification in SEN.

Minimum Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience working with SEN/POD children.

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:

  • Mandatory experience working in an international school.
  • Previous experience working with students with additional learning needs in a primary school setting.
  • Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
  • A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children.
  • Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age and ethnic background.
  • A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life.
  • A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with parents in a diverse multi-cultural environment.
