The Role
We are seeking a seasoned Systems Engineer – Environmental Engineering to join our high-performing Engineering team at ADASI. This critical role is responsible for the full lifecycle of environmental systems engineering across our UAV platforms, including system design, thermal analysis, environmental qualification, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will ensure optimal performance of environmental systems such as thermal management, payload conditioning, and contamination control under varied operational scenarios and challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities
Define and develop environmental control system (ECS) architecture, requirements, and interfaces
Lead the design and integration of thermal management, airflow, insulation, and contamination control systems
Perform thermal simulations and environmental modeling to assess heat transfer, temperature stability, and environmental loads
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless system integration across airframe, avionics, and mechanical domains
Define and execute test plans including thermal cycling, vibration testing, and environmental stress screening
Ensure systems comply with standards such as MIL-STD-810, DO-160, AS9100, and GCAA regulations
Prepare technical documentation for certification, audits, and internal design reviews
Mentor junior engineers and drive innovation in environmental and thermal system technologies
Engage with external partners and suppliers to evaluate advanced solutions and components
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Environmental Engineering (required)
Master’s degree in Thermal Sciences or Aerospace Systems Engineering (preferred)
Experience:
10+ years of aerospace or defense experience in environmental or thermal systems
Proven experience working with UAVs, aircraft ECS, or payload thermal management systems
Certifications (preferred):
INCOSE ASEP/CSEP
Thermal or environmental certifications (e.g., AIAA, ASHRAE)
Strong analytical and simulation skills with attention to system-level integration
Clear communicator across multidisciplinary teams and technical domains
Proactive, adaptable, and capable of driving initiatives independently
Strategic thinker with the ability to balance design constraints and operational realities
Leadership mindset with the ability to guide teams and mentor junior engineers
