Job Description

The role of a Supply Chain Assistant is pivotal in ensuring the seamless and efficient flow of goods and materials through a company's supply chain. The successful applicant will work closely with the supply chain team, assisting in various tasks that contribute to the overall operations of supply chain management. This includes facilitating logistical planning, coordinating with suppliers, managing inventories, and ensuring timely delivery of products to meet business demands. The position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to solve problems quickly. Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the supply chain department.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of orders and address discrepancies.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of supply chain processes and activities for future reference.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
  • Support the development of supply chain plans and identify potential areas of improvement.
  • Process purchase orders and track shipment status from departure to delivery.
  • Collaborate with logistics personnel to enhance the efficiency of transportation operations.
  • Compile and analyze data to assess the performance of the supply chain's key metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to supply chain activities.
  • Assist in the negotiation of contractual agreements with vendors and service providers.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for management to inform supply chain strategy decisions.
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing costs and improving service levels in supply chain operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in supply chain operations or a similar role is desirable.
  • Proficient in using supply chain software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate effective collaborations with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines effectively.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing work environments.
