Job Description

The Supermarket Helper position is an essential role within our busy grocery store, aimed at providing outstanding customer service and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations. As a Supermarket Helper, you will be responsible for assisting in various departments, helping customers find products, restocking shelves, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in locating products and answering their inquiries promptly and politely.
  • Restock and arrange products on shelves to maintain a neat display for customers.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the store environment, including aisles and public areas.
  • Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately and efficiently when needed.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure optimal customer service levels are maintained.
  • Assist in preparing product displays and in-store promotions as instructed by supervisors.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock items to supervisors for reorder recommendations.
  • Help with unloading deliveries and organizing stockroom items methodically.
  • Adhere to all safety and health regulations to promote a safe shopping environment.
  • Support in managing shopping carts and baskets to prevent clutter and ease customer access.
  • Participate in any required training sessions to stay updated with store policies and practices.
  • Handle any customer complaints or direct them to a supervisor for resolution efficiently.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Previous experience in a retail or supermarket setting is advantageous but training will be provided.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and staff members.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as per business needs.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Friendly and positive attitude, with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
