Job Description

Structural Inspector

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Structural Inspector to join our team for a major infrastructure project. In this role you will support construction supervision by inspecting structural works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes and quality standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Inspect structural elements including foundations, columns, beams, slabs and walls to verify compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Monitor workmanship and verify materials meet project requirements and applicable standards.
• Review structural/shop drawings and check reinforcement installation (spacing, alignment, anchorage) prior to concrete placement.
• Identify, document and report defects/non-conformances and follow up on corrective actions.
• Witness and verify tests such as concrete compressive strength, rebar tensile tests and related QA/QC checks.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors and project teams to resolve structural issues and maintain progress.
• Maintain inspection records, daily reports and required documentation, while promoting safe work practices on site.
  
  
  

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 5 years structural inspection experience in large scale infrastructure projects, preferably with focus on pedestrian bridges and roads projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural construction methods and codes/standards (e.g., ACI, BS, Eurocodes, or local regulations).
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and inspection/testing requirements.
• Strong communication and reporting skills with attention to detail and HSE awareness.
  
  
  

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

• Experience in UAE construction supervision projects and familiarity with local authority requirements.
• Hands-on experience with inspection documentation systems (IRs, NCRs, checklists) and as-built/hand-over records.
• Relevant certifications/training (e.g., concrete technology, rebar inspection, safety training) are a plus.
