Overview

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to support the design, analysis, and delivery of mission-critical data centre facilities. The role involves ensuring structural integrity, resilience, and compliance of data centre buildings while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver scalable and high-performance infrastructure solutions.

Your role

  • Design and analyze structural systems for new and existing data centre facilities.
  • Develop structural calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Perform structural assessments for buildings, foundations, steel structures, and equipment support systems.
  • Design structures to support critical data centre equipment, including generators, chillers, cooling towers, batteries, and electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering teams throughout project lifecycles.
  • Conduct site inspections, condition assessments, and feasibility studies.
  • Review geotechnical reports and incorporate findings into foundation and structural designs.
  • Ensure designs meet data centre resilience, redundancy, and operational requirements.
  • Evaluate structural impacts of equipment installations, upgrades, and facility expansions.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders during design and construction phases.
  • Review and respond to RFIs, shop drawings, and construction submittals.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs and specifications.
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend solutions to structural challenges.
  • Support commissioning, testing, and project handover activities.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, seismic standards, wind load requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to value engineering, cost optimization, and sustainability initiatives.

About You

  • Bachelor'S or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 5–10+ years of structural engineering experience, including significant exposure to data centre, mission-critical, industrial, or large infrastructure projects.
  • Experience designing structural systems for hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data centres.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Reinforced concrete and structural steel design
    • Foundations and geotechnical engineering principles
    • Seismic, wind, and dynamic load analysis
    • Equipment support structures and anchor systems
    • Building codes and structural design standards
    • Construction methods and materials
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, STAAD.Pro, SAFE, SAP2000, RAM Structural System, or similar tools.
  • Experience with BIM platforms, including Revit and Navisworks.
  • Understanding of data centre design requirements, redundancy concepts, and critical facility infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with international standards and codes such as IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, Eurocodes, and relevant local regulations.
  • Experience reviewing contractor submissions, construction drawings, and structural calculations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical report-writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work within fast-paced project environments.
  • Preferred certifications:
    • Professional Engineer (PE) / Chartered Engineer (CEng)
    • SE (Structural Engineer) License
    • LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP)
    • Data Centre Design or Mission-Critical Infrastructure Certifications.
