Responsibilities

  • Analyze and design structural components and systems for building purposes.

  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering professionals effectively.
  • Ensure that projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
  • Assess and recommend technical solutions for material choice and structural issues.
  • Evaluate existing structures for safety, durability, and compliance with standards.
  • Provide feedback and insights during all phases of the construction process.
  • Supervise the installation of structures and the associated building services.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software for design and optimization tasks.
  • Continuously update technical knowledge through further education and professional development.
  • Prepare budget estimates and implement cost control measures on projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or the ability to obtain it is essential.
  • Strong proficiency in structural design software like AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in structural engineering practice is preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal building regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills are critical for success.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills with the ability to manage projects.
