Job Description

The role of a Storekeeper 31J25 is vital to the efficient running of any logistics or supply chain operation. As a storekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining an organized stockroom environment, ensuring that goods are received, stored, and issued in a timely and efficient manner. You will play a key role in the inventory management system, keeping accurate records of all inventory transactions. This position requires someone with great attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Your role will also involve coordinating with various departments to fulfill their inventory needs, ensuring the availability of materials when needed. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach will be crucial in handling daily responsibilities effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming shipments and deliveries.
  • Ensure proper storage of materials in designated areas for inventory control.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records and documentation.
  • Monitor stock levels and report any discrepancies or shortages promptly.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and other departments regarding inventory needs.
  • Implement safe handling practices to minimize damage or loss of materials.
  • Participate in regular physical inventory counts and reconciliation efforts.
  • Organize the warehouse space to improve efficiency and access to materials.
  • Prepare and issue materials, following standard procedures and protocols.
  • Utilize warehouse management software to track and manage inventory items.
  • Assist in training new storekeeping staff on inventory policies and systems.
  • Ensure cleanliness and order around the storage area for optimal operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a storekeeper, inventory manager, or similar role.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and warehouse management software.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items using appropriate equipment.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
