Job Description

The Storekeeper Assistant assists in managing site store operations, including receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and documenting materials, tools, and equipment in compliance with company procedures and project requirements. The role supports inventory control, accurate record-keeping, and coordination with departments to ensure efficient site operations.


Key Responsibilities:


Material Ordering & Receiving



  • Assist in coordinating material requests (MRRS) and obtaining proper approvals.

  • Receive materials against LPO, MRRS, and delivery notes; inspect quantity and quality under supervision.

  • Support receipt documentation for concrete and reinforcement, ensuring compliance with company procedures.

  • Acknowledge relevant delivery documents as delegated.


Material Storage & Issuance



  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and preservation of materials, including monitoring shelf life and expiry dates.

  • Issue materials, tools, and equipment with proper authorization.

  • Assist in maintaining control of returnable and non-returnable items, coordinating with site and plant teams.


Records & Reporting



  • Maintain and update stock records, material stock cards, delivery notes, invoices, MRRS, and SRTs.

  • Prepare stock balance and cost reports as instructed.

  • Organize records for audits and project closeout, including tracking excess and unused materials.


Timekeeping (if assigned)



  • Support daily attendance tracking, labor hour calculations, and payroll report preparation.

  • Maintain accurate timekeeping records and submit reports as required.


Qualifications & Skills:



  • Diploma or relevant qualification in Store/Material Management or equivalent.

  • 3+ years of experience as a Storekeeper or assistant in a construction environment.

  • Basic knowledge of material handling, inventory control, and procurement procedures.

  • Familiarity with concrete, reinforcement, and construction materials is an advantage.

  • Good communication and coordination skills.

  • Proficient in MS Office; exposure to ERP systems is a plus.
