The EHS Manager will play a key role in ensuring that the company meets its environmental and sustainability goals while adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and standards. This role will focus on developing, implementing, and managing strategies to minimize the environmental impact of solar EPC projects, ensuring sustainable practices throughout the lifecycle of each project.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Management:
Oversee and manage environmental risk assessments for solar energy projects.
Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 14001).
Monitor and reduce the environmental footprint of the company’s operations, including energy usage, emissions, and waste generation.
Develop and maintain environmental management systems to improve the sustainability of the companys projects.
Sustainability Initiatives
Develop and implement sustainability strategies that align with the company’s long-term goals.
Identify opportunities for resource efficiency and sustainable design in the planning, procurement, and construction phases of projects.
Promote circular economy practices, such as recycling, reusing materials, and waste minimization.
Work with engineering teams to integrate renewable and sustainable technologies into the design and construction processes.
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
Ensure the company meets local, regional, and global environmental regulations related to solar energy projects.
Manage environmental permitting processes and handle any required documentation or filings.
Prepare regular reports on environmental performance and sustainability initiatives for internal and external stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement
Liaise with regulatory bodies, government agencies, environmental organizations, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable practices.
Educate internal teams about sustainability goals, environmental practices, and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with project teams to integrate environmental considerations into project planning and execution.
Data Management & Analysis
Collect, analyze, and report on environmental data related to energy consumption, waste management, emissions, and resource use.
Use data to track performance against environmental goals and recommend improvements.
Training & Awareness
Lead environmental training sessions for employees to raise awareness about sustainability issues, environmental best practices, and the company’s environmental goals.
Ensure that all employees are well-informed of the latest environmental regulations, policies, and best practices in the solar EPC industry.
Qualifications
Any full time Bachelor’s degree with NEBOSH Certification
Minimum of 15 years of experience in environmental management, sustainability, or a related role, preferably in the renewable energy or construction sector.
Skills
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and best practices, especially within the renewable energy or EPC industries.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in environmental software tools, data analysis, and reporting.
Knowledge of environmental certifications such as ISO 14001 or LEED is a plus.
