Job Overview

The Sportsbook Director is the accountable business owner for Fanatics Momentum’s Sportsbook vertical. This role carries full ownership of strategy, commercial performance, and customer proposition, with a clear mandate to drive revenue growth, margin expansion and sustained customer value.

Operating at the centre of a fast-moving, performance-driven environment, the Sportsbook Director aligns Trading, Product, Technology, Marketing, CRM, Operations and Finance behind a single commercial agenda. The role demands decisive leadership, strong commercial instinct and the ability to translate market opportunity and customer insight into disciplined execution.

This is not a functional leadership role; it is a vertical P&L leadership position responsible for delivering measurable impact and building a scalable, differentiated Sportsbook business.

Responsibilities (What the Role Delivers)

• Own and deliver the end-to-end Sportsbook strategy, translating company objectives into a clear growth plan with defined commercial targets and execution priorities.
• Hold full accountability for Sportsbook performance, including NGR, margin, customer growth, retention and profitability.
• Set and drive financial and operational targets, ensuring rigorous performance tracking, gap analysis and corrective action.
• Lead proposition strategy across pricing, bet mechanics, promotions, major sporting events and customer experience to maintain competitive advantage.
• Align Trading, Marketing and CRM to ensure coordinated execution of pricing, campaigns, segmentation, acquisition and retention strategies.
• Sponsor and evaluate investment decisions, business cases and transformation initiatives, ensuring disciplined capital allocation and ROI delivery.
• Represent the Sportsbook vertical at Executive level, influencing cross-functional priorities and ensuring organisational alignment behind performance objectives.

Requirements (What We’re Looking For)

Must Have:

• Proven experience leading a Sportsbook business with direct commercial accountability.
• Demonstrated ownership of revenue, margin and profitability performance at senior level.
• Deep understanding of sportsbook economics, trading models, promotional mechanics and customer behaviour.
• Experience of working in partnership with Product and Technology teams to deliver commercial impact.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, KPI frameworks and performance management.
• Ability to operate at pace in a high-growth, results-oriented environment with clear accountability.
• Executive presence and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across Commercial, Product, Operations and Compliance.

Bonus Points:

• Experience across multiple gaming verticals (e.g., Sportsbook and iGaming).
• Experience operating in regulated markets.
• Exposure to international sportsbook operations.
• Experience leading significant transformation or scaling initiatives.
