Job Description

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a critical role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. You will work with a diverse range of clients, including children with developmental speech and language disorders, individuals recovering from strokes or traumatic brain injuries, and adults with degenerative conditions. Your expertise will help improve their ability to communicate effectively, enhancing their participation in social and professional environments. You will collaborate with families, educators, and a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each client's needs. Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individual treatment plans to address specific client needs.

  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to support treatment goals.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans based on outcomes and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions and sessions.
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families on therapeutic processes.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress and strategies.
  • Conduct therapy sessions in various settings, including schools, clinics, and inpatient care.
  • Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in speech and language therapy.
  • Advocate for clients' needs within the healthcare and educational systems.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions to enhance social communication skills when necessary.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in required state.
  • Proven experience working with a diverse range of speech and language disorders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction.
  • Ability to develop and implement innovative, client-centered therapeutic strategies.
  • Familiarity with current technology and software used in speech therapy practice.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated in the field.
