Job Description

A Speech and Language Therapist is a healthcare professional dedicated to evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. This role is crucial in helping individuals across all age groups, from infants to the elderly, achieve optimal communication and swallowing function. The therapist's expertise typically extends to working with individuals who have a wide range of conditions, such as developmental delays, hearing impairments, learning disabilities, neurological disorders, and more. A Speech and Language Therapist is responsible for developing individualized treatment plans, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and providing education and support to patients and their families. Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders.

  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including doctors, educators, and psychologists.

  • Stay informed about the latest developments and research in speech therapy.
  • Conduct therapy sessions both individually and in group settings as required.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations.
  • Provide training sessions and workshops to educate the community about communication disorders.
  • Advocate for patients and support their integration into educational or social settings.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy or a related field is required.
  • Valid license to practice.
  • Strong understanding of communication disorders and therapeutic interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to develop effective treatment plans and evaluate patient progress.
  • Experience working in various settings such as schools, hospitals, or clinics is preferred.
