Specialist Project Management

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly motivated Commercial Specialist, Project Management to support the delivery of strategic projects, business growth initiatives, and operational improvement programmes across the organisation.

The successful candidate will manage projects from concept through implementation, ensuring objectives are achieved within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards. The role combines project management, commercial analysis, business planning, stakeholder engagement, governance, and performance monitoring to support informed decision-making and maximise business value.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams, the Strategic Specialist will develop business cases, assess project viability, manage risks, track performance, and support the successful delivery of strategic and commercial objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage strategic projects and business initiatives from planning through implementation and handover.
• Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, resource requirements, and governance frameworks to support successful delivery.
• Monitor project progress, risks, dependencies, and issues to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Deliver projects within approved scope, budget, quality standards, and agreed timelines.
• Prepare project updates, presentations, and recommendations for management and key stakeholders.
• Develop business cases, investment proposals, and cost-benefit analyses to support strategic decision-making.
• Prepare project budgets, cost estimates, financial forecasts, and business evaluations.
• Assess commercial risks and opportunities and recommend actions to maximise value and project outcomes.
• Monitor project performance against business objectives and expected benefits.
• Support the evaluation of new initiatives, growth opportunities, and business improvement programmes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery and alignment with organisational priorities.
• Coordinate activities across Finance, Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Commercial, and operational teams.
• Facilitate project meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Provide project updates, risk assessments, and business insights to support decision-making.
• Maintain project documentation, governance records, and reporting requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project risks, issues, and action plans, ensuring timely resolution and escalation where required.
• Support compliance with internal policies, governance frameworks, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Develop project dashboards, performance reports, and management updates.
• Identify opportunities to improve project management practices, processes, and operational efficiency.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent Project Management certification.
• Minimum 6 years experience in project management, strategic initiatives, business planning, or a related field.
• Proven experience managing projects from initiation through implementation and delivery.
• Experience developing business cases, project budgets, financial assessments, and cost estimates.
• Experience managing strategic and business improvement projects.
• Knowledge of commercial analysis, budgeting, cost estimation, and business case development.
• Ability to assess project risks, costs, and value realisation opportunities.
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders across Finance, Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Commercial, and operational teams.
• Experience in project reporting, governance, risk management, and performance monitoring.
• Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies and business planning principles.
• Strong stakeholder coordination and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong analytical, financial, problem-solving, and reporting capabilities.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience within defence, aerospace, engineering, technology, or other complex operational environments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in procurement, contract management, or commercial evaluations.
• Familiarity with financial analysis and performance monitoring.
• Experience using project tracking and reporting tools such as MS Project and Power BI.
• Experience supporting commercial proposals, contract reviews, and governance activities.
• Understanding of regulatory, compliance, and commercial requirements related to project delivery.
• Experience working within UAE or international organisations delivering strategic growth initiatives.
