Key Responsibilities:
Design & Industrialization:
Develop and design mechanical subsystems and/or components in accordance with product specifications and performance objectives.
Implement product design improvements based on product specifications.
Conduct investigations and reviews to identify alternative solutions for product enhancement and cost reduction.
Facilitate and monitor the implementation of design improvements and cost reductions across the product line.
Coordinate and participate in design reviews for concepts and prototypes.
Manage the fabrication of prototypes.
Ensure that designs comply with the latest safety requirements, particularly for safety critical devices.
Conduct tests on components, assemblies, and final products.
Analyze, report, and review product parameters to ensure compliance with product specifications.
Participate in meetings, such as MRS (Material Review Board) and PCMBs (Product Change Management Boards), to identify, define, and resolve mechanical design-related issues.
Production Line Support:
Investigate production problems that arise on the production line.
Propose suitable solutions to the Material Review Board (MRB) for implementation.
Support modifications of production documentation performed by subsystem managers.
Liaise with suppliers to address non-conformances found in materials/components.
Resolve manufacturing problems with suppliers to improve product quality.
Actively participate in incoming inspection processes to identify and address related problems.
Generate new Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documents for component manufacturing at suppliers.
Engage in faultfinding processes on the production line and contribute to product improvements.
Collaborate with material planning teams and provide support as needed.
Perform similar and related duties as required.
Experience & Education:
Fifteen to twenty years experience in defense industry, preferably in the weapon system development, testing and production environment.
Hands on experience is essential
Experience in problem solving techniques
Specification and Design , preferably for domestic and international defense industry customers
Key Skills:
Mechanical design
Working knowledge of Military standards / Commercial standards
