Job Title: Specialist Pipeline Engineer

KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based initially in Client or Contractors Office in Abu Dhabi and later move to an ASIAN location for the FEED phase.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Design

• Lead and perform detailed design of pipeline systems (onshore/offshore), including routing, wall thickness calculations, material selection, and stress analysis.
• Develop and review engineering deliverables such as:
• Pipeline alignment sheets
• P&IDs and layouts
• Material requisitions and specifications
• Design calculations and reports
• Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.4, B31.8, DNV-ST-N001, ISO).
  

• Provide specialist advice on:
• Pipeline hydraulics and flow assurance
• Cathodic protection and corrosion management
• Pipeline integrity and risk assessment
• Perform advanced analysis such as:
• Hydraulic simulations
• Surge analysis
• Thermal expansion and stress modelling
  

• Support FEED, detailed engineering, and EPC phases of projects.
• Review contractor/vendor designs, drawings, and technical submissions.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and design review sessions.
  
  

• Provide technical support during pipeline installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Assist in troubleshooting field issues and engineering deviations.
  
  

• Support pipeline integrity management programs (PIMS).
• Develop inspection and maintenance strategies.
• Analyze inspection data (e.g., pigging results) and recommend corrective actions.
  
  

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (process, mechanical, civil, instrumentation).
• Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
• Master’s degree is a plus
  
  

• 15-18+ years of experience in pipeline engineering within oil & gas or energy sector
• Strong experience in both design and execution phases preferred
  
  

• Proficient in pipeline engineering software (e.g., AutoPIPE, CAESAR II, PIPESIM)
• Strong knowledge of international pipeline codes and standards
• Experience with offshore pipelines (optional but desirable)
  
  

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and safety standards
• Effective communication and stakeholder management
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments
  
  

• Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent
• NACE certification (corrosion control)
• PMP certification (for project-related roles)
