Execute the Company’s external communication activities to create, promote, enhance, and protect the “voice”, image and brand of the Company by bringing to life the brand promise through multiple channels, events, communication vehicles, and through community relations efforts.
Key Accountabilities
External Communications
Provide input in the Company’s external communication strategy and implement the Company’s external communication strategy to achieve company objectives.
Enable the effective utilization of external messages across Group external channels, media and events.
Seek out Company stories and pitch communications content to ADNOC HQ (i.e. for press releases, social media, exhibition and event inclusion, etc.).
Monitor the Company’s external media coverage across all channels, flag concerns and suggest improvement measures.
Organize media gatherings, forums and press conferences for special exhibitions and events in coordination with the ADNOC Group of Companies to meet the Company’s objectives.
Maintain professional and positive media relations.
Develop specialized business content and contribute in the development of messages, content and narratives for external use, focused on the Company’s business activities and achievements.
Support Group Communications to address media inquiries in liaison with ADNOC Downstream Communications.
Provide input/ support in the speaking engagement preparation for company spokesperson and executives, conferences and exhibitions.
Contribute in maintaining and updating emergency communication response plans and participate in regular training and drills.
Facilitate required approvals for external speaking engagements from Group Communications.
Review and comment on graphics for the web, print and multimedia projects for modifications or enhancements.
Review captions, titles, advertisements, materials for exhibitions, audio – visual programs and presentations as assigned to ensure correctness.
Keep records of success metrics & reporting (ROI).
Propose initiatives for the improvement of external communication to strengthen our Company’s and Group’s reputation and image.
Supervision
Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective functional objectives.
Budgets
Provide input for preparation of the functional budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver functional objectives.
Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
Implement approved Section / Team / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.
Performance Management
Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the function in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best Industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor Degree in Communications or Public Relations or equivalent professional qualification.
8 years’ experience in corporate communications covering media relations and PR functions, preferably in the oil & gas industry.
Good working knowledge in editing and translation activities for company’s publications.
Extensive understanding about creating and reviewing advertisements, articles, press releases.
Ability to deliver excellent quality content for company’s publications.
Well versed in writing, editing and conversing.
Planning and organising, scheduling and coordinating, checking, examining and recording.
Knowledgeable about UAE laws and regulations, as well as local customs and protocol.
