Job Description

As a Specialist in Catering Operations, you will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating all aspects of catering services. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that high-quality services are consistently delivered to clients, enhancing customer satisfaction and fostering repeat business. The role requires a creative and strategic thinker who can oversee catering activities from conception through to execution, ensuring both financial and operational goals are met. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the execution of catering services for various events and functions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients to understand their catering needs and preferences.
  • Collaborate with chefs and culinary staff to design creative and customized menus.
  • Supervise catering staff during events, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of catering supplies, maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations in all catering operations.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to understand successes and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement catering operational policies and procedures to streamline services.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning for catering operations.
  • Train and mentor catering staff, fostering a culture of excellence and team collaboration.
  • Negotiate contracts with clients and vendors to secure beneficial terms and rates.
  • Utilize feedback and data analytics to refine services and enhance customer experiences.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in catering operations or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or Business Management preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with clients and vendors.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, financial forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations within catering environments.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments meeting strict deadlines.
