Job Description

As a Specialist in Catering Operations, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of catering events, providing exceptional culinary experiences to clients. This role involves managing all aspects of catering operations from concept to completion. You'll be responsible for coordinating with various teams, overseeing logistics, managing supplies, and ensuring that each event adheres to client specifications and quality standards. Your expertise in menu planning, cost management, and customer service will be essential in maintaining the high standards our clients expect. This position requires a strong leader who is detail-oriented and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment to deliver seamless and memorable catering experiences.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with clients to understand their catering requirements and preferences thoroughly.
  • Oversee all aspects of catering operations, from planning to execution.
  • Develop and plan menus in collaboration with culinary teams to meet client needs.
  • Ensure all catering events are executed according to established quality standards.
  • Manage budgets effectively, ensuring cost control and profitability in all catering services.
  • Supervise and manage catering staff, providing direction and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely and quality delivery of supplies and ingredients.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success and areas needing improvement.
  • Develop strong client relationships by providing outstanding customer service throughout the event.
  • Implement strategies to improve efficiency and enhance the catering operations continuously.
  • Ensure timely resolution of any issues or challenges that arise during events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in catering operations or a similar hospitality leadership role.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with clients and vendors.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best catering practices.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
