About the Department of Finance – Abu Dhabi
Established in 1966 with the objective of strengthening the
financial sustainability of the Emirate, DoF is responsible for the development
and execution of the Abu Dhabi government’s annual budget and for overseeing
government returns, expenditures, funding and liquidity. DoF does this by
working closely in partnership with the relevant local government entities and
the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
Role Overview
To support the implementation, interpretation, and
application of accounting standards, particularly IPSAS, across government
entities and central financial reporting processes. The role ensures consistent
financial reporting practices aligned with international standards and
contributes to the development of accounting policies, guidance, and compliance
frameworks under the fiscal governance of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Assist in the
implementation and continuous enhancement of International Public Sector
Accounting Standards (IPSAS) across the Government of Abu Dhabi entities.

Interpret and analyze new
or updated accounting standards and assess their implications on financial
reporting practices and government entity compliance.

technical guidance notes based on IPSAS and other relevant frameworks.

Conduct technical
accounting research and draft briefing notes, interpretations, and responses to
inquiries from government entities related to accounting treatments and
disclosure requirements.

in public sector accounting standards and recommend necessary updates to
internal guidance and policies.

Education Qualification:
