Job Description

As a Sourcing Manager specialized in plastics, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing procurement strategies and establishing strong supplier relationships to ensure an efficient supply chain. This role demands a robust understanding of the plastics industry, including market trends, material specifications, and vendor capabilities. You will be responsible for developing strategic sourcing plans, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier performance to maximize value and minimize risks. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills, a knack for negotiation, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to drive cost efficiencies and supplier reliability. Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for plastic materials to achieve business objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery timeframes.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous deals.
  • Monitor market trends and supply chain developments pertinent to the plastics industry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and manage stock levels efficiently.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure continuous improvement and innovation in procurements.
  • Analyse and assess supplier performance to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
  • Assist with the resolution of any procurement-related issues that arise with suppliers.
  • Prepare detailed reports and market analysis data to inform strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Work closely with the logistics team to optimize delivery routes and minimize transport costs.
  • Oversee the implementation of sustainable sourcing practices aligning with company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least five years of experience in sourcing or procurement within the plastics industry.
  • Proven track record in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to achieve cost-effective outcomes.
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret complex market and business information logically.
  • Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards within the plastics sector.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with keen attention to detail.
