Job Description

The Sourcing Manager - Plastics is responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives for plastic materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely supply. This role requires a deep understanding of the plastics market, supplier landscape, and procurement best practices. The Sourcing Manager will liaise with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. As a pivotal member of the procurement department, the Sourcing Manager will leverage analytics and market knowledge to make informed decisions and drive value across the supply chain. This position demands excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for plastic materials procurement.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to establish robust business partnerships.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to maximize cost savings.
  • Monitor market trends and prices to stay informed on supply chain dynamics.
  • Collaborate with product development and manufacturing teams to align sourcing strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications for all plastic materials.
  • Manage supplier performance through regular assessments and performance reviews.
  • Develop cost-saving initiatives and continuous process improvement plans.
  • Implement risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
  • Prepare and manage the sourcing budget, ensuring financial goals are met.
  • Work with compliance teams to maintain adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure supply reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in sourcing and procurement, particularly in plastics.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of managing supplier contracts.
  • Advanced understanding of supply chain management and procurement processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex market data.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and develop strategic business relationships.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite tools.
