Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

General Description

• Work as part of a site commissioning team for a 1012 MW power plant consisting of four simple-cycle gas turbine units.

• The facility includes gas turbine systems, BOP systems, electrical systems, mechanical systems, instrumentation and control systems, and related utility systems requiring safe isolation and work permit coordination during commissioning and start-up activities.

• The technician will mainly support commissioning safety coordination activities for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems while coordinating with commissioning engineers, OEM technical advisors, construction teams, operation teams, and Owner representatives

Education / Experience

• Technical institute graduate or equivalent technical experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in operation, maintenance, LOTO/PTW coordination activities

• Experience with power plants, oil & gas, LNG, or large industrial facilities preferred

• Experience in electrical and mechanical isolation coordination preferred

Additional Desirable Skills

• High voltage or electrical switching certification preferred

• LOTO/PTW coordinator or authorized person certification preferred

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Implement approved project LOTO and PTW procedures and requirements

• Support isolation planning, lock application, tag verification, and clearance confirmation activities

• Coordinate PTW issuance, extension, suspension, and closure activities during commissioning works

• Verify mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation isolation conditions prior to work execution

• Support switching coordination and system handover activities during energization and commissioning works

• Maintain LOTO/PTW records, logs, lock registers, and related documentation

• Conduct field inspections to verify safe working conditions and compliance with approved procedures

• Coordinate with commissioning teams, operation teams, and contractors regarding work permits and system status

• Support walk-downs, punch clearance, and operational readiness activities

• Ensure compliance with PTW (Permit to Work), LOTO, and site HSE procedures

• Report abnormal conditions, isolation conflicts, and unsafe conditions to responsible supervisors
