Job Description
The Ship Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing ship engines, machinery, and equipment. They will perform inspections, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and ensure the safe operation of the ship's mechanical systems.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance procedures on ship engines, machinery, and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform necessary repairs.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Carry out repairs and replacements of defective parts and components.
- Read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
- Collaborate with other crew members and technical teams as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a ship mechanic or in a related field.
- Knowledge of ship engines, machinery, and equipment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team and under pressure.
