Job Description

The role of the Service Advisor is crucial in the automotive industry, acting as the primary communication point between customers seeking vehicle service and the technical team responsible for repairs and maintenance. The Service Advisor must ensure a seamless service process, from the initial customer inquiry to the final delivery of the vehicle post-service. Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and courteously as they arrive at the service center.
  • Listen to customer's vehicle issues and document necessary details for the technicians.
  • Provide accurate costs and timeline estimates for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Develop service documentation by maintaining thorough customer and vehicle records.
  • Coordinate with the technical team to relay vehicle concerns and additional service options.
  • Communicate regularly with customers regarding service progress and any additional work required.
  • Ensure all service actions adhere to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Facilitate customer payments and process payments efficiently using the service system.
  • Manage service schedules and appointments, optimizing technician productivity.
  • Handle customer complaints with patience and escalate them when necessary.
  • Promote dealership services and service specials to boost sales and customer retention.
  • Conduct follow-up calls to ensure customer satisfaction post-service completion.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar customer-facing role.
  • Strong understanding of automotive technology and repair processes.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with customers and technical teams.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems, including repair and service management software.
  • Proven organizational skills for managing customer appointments and service schedules.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; technical or automotive certification preferred.
