About The Role

As a Senior Tour Guide at Qasr al Watan, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by leading high-impact guided tours tailored to diverse audiences, including VIPs, school groups, and tourists. This guest-facing position ensures seamless entry and outstanding care for all visitors while managing guided tours as part of the Operations department. Beyond guiding, you will support operational tasks such as opening/closing areas, greeting guests, and handling performance associate duties. Your expertise in UAE culture, heritage, and contemporary relevance will drive engaging narratives, while your ability to adapt tone and content ensures personalized experiences. Proactive guest engagement, safety awareness, and revenue generation through upselling/cross-selling are key components of this dynamic role. You will also contribute to continuous improvement by sharing guest insights and cultural FAQs, ensuring Qasr al Watan maintains its national image and service excellence.

What Youll Do

Guided Tours / Operations

  • Conduct expert-level guided tours for diverse audiences, including VIPs, school groups, and tourists, adapting content and tone to meet their unique needs.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of Qasr al Watan checkpoints, UAE culture, heritage, and contemporary relevance to enrich tour experiences.
  • Operate MMG and Whisper systems proficiently, ensuring seamless functionality for guests and promptly reporting any technical issues.
  • Continuously update personal knowledge through in-depth product training and testing of new tour content to maintain high standards.
  • Provide proactive guest engagement beyond tours, including answering cultural inquiries, offering relevant experience suggestions, and assisting with wayfinding.
  • Integrate special exhibitions into tour delivery to enhance guest understanding and appreciation of dynamic content.
  • Uphold personal presentation and conduct aligned with Qasr al Watan’s national image and service standards.
  • Act as a first responder in emergencies, ensuring guest safety until further assistance arrives.
  • Share high-level guest insights and cultural FAQs with the senior tour guide team to refine content and services.
  • Drive revenue growth through strategic upselling and cross-selling of products, activities, and services.
  • Support all operational areas as needed, including opening/closing facilities and assisting with guest welcome protocols.
  • Maintain vigilance for emergency situations, responding swiftly to safeguard guest and colleague well-being.
  • Address guest concerns with courtesy and fairness, implementing effective service recovery solutions when necessary.
  • Welcome guests professionally and warmly, engaging each individual uniquely while attentively addressing their requests.
  • Provide comprehensive information on pricing, promotions, shows, and experiences to enhance and maximize guest satisfaction.

What Were Looking For

Essential

  • Higher secondary education or equivalent qualification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in history or sociology.
  • 1–2 years of experience delivering guided tours.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English (verbal and written).
  • High level of respect, integrity, and willingness to engage with diverse guests.
  • Knowledge of UAE culture and protocol.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Word.

Desirable

  • Completion of task training/group trainer programs or similar training courses.
  • 1 year of experience in a public speaking role.
  • Fluency in Arabic (verbal and written).
