Senior Technical Accountant UAE National

Mark Williams are currently recruiting for a Senior Technical Accounting Specialist for a leading entity based in Abu Dubai. You will be working in a small team and report into the Finance Director

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support on a range of technical accounting engagements, including acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, business combinations and other complex corporate transactions

• Support the preparation and review of financial statements and associated disclosures, ensuring compliance with IFRS and relevant regulatory standards

• Undertake accounting research and evaluate complex technical matters to help develop clear recommendations for senior finance stakeholders

• Develop detailed accounting papers, technical assessments and supporting documentation for review and approval by senior members of the team

• Help the business with new IFRS requirements and contribute to updates and enhancements to accounting policies and procedures

• Identify opportunities to strengthen finance processes, controls and reporting practices across the organisation and its subsidiaries

• Work closely with internal finance stakeholders and external auditors to address technical accounting matters, clarify treatments and resolve reporting queries

• Building financial models and undertaking scenario, sensitivity and impact analysis to assess the financial implications of proposed transactions and business decisions

• Monitor changes to IFRS, regulatory requirements and emerging accounting practices

• Maintain a strong understanding of technical accounting developments

Key Requirements

• Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA, CPA, CMA

• Worked in a similar role previously

• Excellent presentation, communication and stakeholder management skills

• Understand M&A accounting, financial reporting, consolidation and detailed transactions

• Worked in a top 10 practice
