Senior Tax Consultant

Key responsibilities

• Supporting the team in working on and overseeing the execution of various tax projects and deliverables across indirect tax (VAT, customs and excise tax) and direct taxation (corporate tax)
• Collaborating within tax and across other service lines, including transfer pricing, audit and outsourcing, to pursue and deliver engagements
• Contributing to building and maintaining client relationships
• Supporting the existing team in day-to-day challenges related to tax compliance
• Working closely with senior tax managers on technical research, tax compliance matters and tax reviews
• Working both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
• Operating professionally and with the highest level of integrity
• Interfacing with and establishing credibility with senior-level executives
• Prioritising tasks and managing multiple assignments, ensuring delivery on time and within budget

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in tax, accounting, finance or a related field
• Chartered certified accountant qualification or an equivalent tax or accounting qualification is an advantage
• A minimum of four years of relevant experience in taxation
• Strong knowledge of corporate tax, VAT and international tax principles
• Understanding of financial statements and IFRS principles relevant to tax computations
• Strong communication, organisational and presentation skills
• Open-minded and client-oriented approach to work

Skills

• Experience in delivering tax submissions and providing on-the-job coaching to junior team members
• Ability to analyse financial data, interpret tax legislation and provide insights on tax planning and compliance
• Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory
