About The Role

Mott MacDonald Middle East is looking to recruit a Senior Consultant with experience in sustainable design to join our team of dedicated sustainability and environmental professionals working on projects across our all sectors (built environment, water, transport, energy and advisory) and territories in the GCC.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing thought leadership in the region, whilst guiding junior team members and delivering sustainability projects, engaging both technically and providing a client facing presence.

You should be able to demonstrate experience in delivering consultancy services in sustainability including environmental rating system assessments (LEED, Estidama, Al Sa’fat, WELL, CEEQUAL), carbon management, sustainable masterplanning, sustainability reporting and policy advice, and have a strong understanding of building services, renewable energy systems and climate resilience strategies

Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

  • Management and coordination of sustainability projects ensuring commercial success
  • Provide strategic consultative advice to clients and design teams on sustainability, carbon management and climate resilience
  • Development of bespoke sustainability and CSR strategies for Mott MacDonald and its clients/projects
  • Seek out new clients and identify new opportunities in the sustainability market to contribute to the progression of the company and project pipeline
  • Demonstrate an awareness of international best practice and drive integration into the regional business
  • Mentoring, supporting and developing junior team members
  • Interact with other members of the business and external clients at all levels and across sectors
  • Facilitate workshops and present to a broad range of stakeholders
  • Manage resources, deliverables and budgets on projects

Candidate specifications

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree and post-graduate qualification in a sustainability related field (e.g. engineering, energy, sustainability).
  • Technical knowledge of regional and international sustainability policy, guidance and legislation
  • Qualifications in, and experience delivering sustainability assessment systems (e.g. LEED, Estidama, Al Sa’fat, WELL, CEEQUAL)
  • Experience delivering carbon management and climate resilience projects
  • Knowledge of energy and microclimate modelling platforms, such as SBEM, IES -VE, TAS, Ecotect, Sefaira, is an advantage
  • Good understanding of contractual issues and risks relating to delivery of projects
