Job Description

As a Senior Stock Controller, you play a pivotal role in leading and managing the supply chain within our organization. Your focus will be on optimizing inventory levels, minimizing stock loss, and ensuring that products are available to meet customer demands efficiently. This role requires a proactive approach to forecast demand, manage inventory accuracy, and coordinate with various departments to streamline operations. You'll be integral to decision-making processes, resolving issues that may arise during transactions, and implementing strategies to improve stock control systems. With your keen attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a comprehensive understanding of inventory management principles, you'll contribute significantly to the operational success and financial health of our business.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage stock levels across multiple departments and locations.
  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock usage.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure stock accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with procurement and sales teams to predict and meet stock demands.
  • Implement systems to track and manage slow-moving and obsolete inventory items.
  • Train and mentor junior stock controllers on best practices in inventory management.
  • Analyze stock reports and market trends to inform stock control decisions.
  • Resolve any operational issues related to stock discrepancies promptly and effectively.
  • Report on stock levels, supply chain progress, and inventory audits to senior management.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and manage lead times effectively.
  • Ensure that all inventory operations comply with industry regulations and standards.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and storage solutions for efficient stock access and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in stock control or inventory management, preferably in a senior role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage inventory levels effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines consistently.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for accurate stock tracking.
