ADVANCED CONCEPTS is an entity within EDGE dedicated to the design and deployment of advanced, innovative technologies. ADVANCED CONCEPTS is fast-tracking the development of high-technology autonomous systems, including three Medium Endurance, High Altitude, fixed-wing unmanned aerial systems, a family of precision loitering munitions, a cost- effective family of cruise missiles, and a range of guided artillery munitions.

Core Accountabilities:

  • Define project scope, milestones, deliverables, and resource plans.
  • Lead the execution of technical projects from concept to completion.
  • Manage cross-functional teams, ensuring tasks are aligned and progress is on track.
  • Mentor and guide engineers and project staff to meet technical and schedule goals.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between engineering, clients, suppliers, and management.
  • Ensure clear communication of expectations, progress, and changes.
  • Identify risks early and implement mitigation plans.
  • Address technical and project-related issues proactively.
  • Monitor project budgets, resource allocation, and cost control.
  • Report deviations and take corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure technical quality and compliance with engineering standards and customer requirements.
  • Oversee critical reviews, validation activities, and integration efforts.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, and status reports.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Capture lessons learned and implement process improvements for future projects.
  • Provide guidance, clarify requirements, and help remove technical blockers.
  • Ensure engineers have the tools, resources, and support needed to deliver quality work.
  • Facilitate coordination between engineering, procurement, production, and quality teams.
  • Ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Translate technical progress into clear updates for stakeholders and clients.
  • Ensure feedback loops are maintained across all involved parties.
  • Gather inputs, assess risks, and present data to guide informed project decisions.
  • Escalate critical issues promptly with actionable insights.

Education / Experience

  • Minimum Requirement Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Systems), or a related technical field.
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum are highly valued. Coursework or credentials in business, risk management, or engineering management are beneficial.
  • Minimum Experience 7+ years managing technical projects or leading engineering workstreams.
  • Must have solid understanding of the relevant industry (e.g., aerospace, defense, automotive) and its engineering practices.
  • Knowledge of project lifecycle phases: design, development, testing, production, and delivery
  • Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO, ASME, MIL-STD, FAA, or other sector-specific regulations)
  • Competency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and documentation
