Senior Specialist Risk Management

JOB PURPOSE:

The work of Project Risk Management is to identify new risks, re-assess existing risks, systematically evaluate the identified risks and ensuring adequate risk response actions are in place and to increase the likelihood to meet project objectives.

Project Risk Management is a part of Group Projects and Engineering and is required to support and efficient project maturation and delivery.

The purpose of role of Senior Specialist Project Project Risk Management is to oversee and control all Project Risk Management activities pertaining to the successful delivery of the Group’s strategic capital projects portfolio of all Major projects, to meet the mandate of the Group CEO and overall group objectives.

Key Accountabilities

Project Risk Management

• Lead the Project Risk Management discipline, providing direction and advice to all Group Companies on all Risk Management discipline integration related issues.
• As Group Technical Authority (Level 1), manage the development of all Project Risk Management related standards, guidelines, and procedures.
• Manage the development, update and regular maintenance of the Project Risk Management technical and organizational framework, competency management and assessment framework and the development of the Project Risk Management with the Technical Authority Framework
• Lead the implementation of the Technical Authority Framework on Project Risk Management roles across ADNOD Group by appointing individual Group Company Technical Authorities.
• Develop and maintain the Project Risk Management Knowledge community across the Group Companies.
• Provide technical risk management advice, supporting Group Companies in managing their portfolio of projects within a risk framework, assisting in developing and delivering them in terms of scope, cost, time, operability, quality and safety in line with the agreed project objectives.
• Assess top risks associated with ADNOC Capital Program and report them to internal and external stakeholders as required i.e., GPE SVP, VPs, ERM function, and any other leadership structure that requires capital projects risk reporting.
• Lead the development of Project Risk Management Community of Practice.
• Work with other Senior Specialist Project to ensure seamless integration of Project Risk Management knowledge within ADNOC Group Value Assurance Process and Integrated Project Management System.
  
  

Management

• Lead and set the tone for the oversight & execution of the ADNOCs Project Risk Management.
• Maintain continuous oversight to ensure effective implementation of Project Risk Management Framework across ADNOC.
• Foster and strengthen project risk aware culture across ADNOC through continuous project risk related initiatives.
• Review ADNOC top project risks and related risk action plans and submit/present to ADNOC leadership when requested.
• Work with Directorates and Group Companies to establish, maintain and continuously improve project risk management capabilities
• Plan and supervise the activities of the personnel and resources of the Department to achieve the Division objectives in an efficient and cost-conscious manner while ensuring implementation of approved operational plans for the Department in line with Division objectives.
• Develop the knowledge, competencies and innovative spirit in the Department and support the establishment of Personal Development Plans (PDP’s), Succession Planning and Talent pipeline within the Department in coordination with the Human Capability Group to continuously develop employees with emphasis on UAE Nationals to meet Emiratization targets.
  
  

Budgets and Operational Plans

• Compile and provide input for preparation of the Division budgets and regularly monitor expenditure against approved the Department budget levels.
• Investigate, highlight and reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.
• Oversee design and implementation of the iPAD Risk Management Module.
• Continuously assess project risk management software capabilities against market demand, and test and procure best in class project cost and schedule risk management software.
  
  

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

• Lead the implementation of approved Department policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures and internal controls in order to support execution of the Division work programs in line with Company and International standards.
  
  

Performance Management

• Implement the Company Performance Management System for individuals within the Department in accordance with Company approved guidelines and continuously monitor the achievement of the Department KPIs related to the approved Annual Performance Management Contract and the Balanced Score Card.
  
  

Organisation Structure and Development

• Review, develop and recommend the appropriate organisation structure for the Department that will best utilise human capital while proactively incorporating sustainability into the on-going work practices to meet the business objectives.
  
  

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Encourage innovation, enhance employee motivation and support initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve operations and services.
• Propose improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the Department.
  
  

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

• Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, systems & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the Department in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
• Ensure adequate HSE training and induction for all Department employees to meet HSE standards.
  
  

Management Information Systems (MIS) and Reports

• Prepare all Department MIS and progress reports to provide accurate and timely reports and necessary information to Company Management to effectively manage the business.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably with an advanced professional degree in Project Risk Management, Project Management or Engineering.
  
  

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

• 15 years of experience within Oil & Gas projects with exposure to various aspects for Project Management and Project Risk Management at project, business unit, and corporate levels.
• Subject Matter Expert Knowledge in Project Risk Management applied to Oil & Gas Capital Projects.
  
  

Professional Certifications

• Preferably Certification as PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP)®
• Preferably Certification as Project Management Professional (PMP)®
  
  

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

• Highly proficient in project risk management software packages such as Archer, ARM, Oracle Primavera Risk Analysis, @Risk, Deltek Acumen Fuse, Safran.
