JOB PURPOSE:

Primary mission is to spearhead the strategic utilization of project intelligence to optimize the portfolio of capital projects across ADNOC and its Group Companies. Play a vital part in shaping ADNOCs project management capabilities, enhancing its competitive edge, and ensuring that capital projects are executed with precision and efficiency.

Harness the power of data analytics, market insights, and industry trends to drive informed decision-making, mitigate risks, and bolster project performance. By strategically gathering, analysing, and interpreting project-related information, it provides valuable insights that enable ADNOC to not only meet but exceed industry standards.

Assess market dynamics, identifying competitor strategies, and staying attuned to shifts in the oil and gas sector.

Contributions extend to fostering collaboration among cross-functional teams, streamlining processes, and instilling a culture of continuous improvement empowering ADNOC to make strategic investments, allocate resources effectively, and maintain its position as a leading force in the global energy landscape.

Key driver of ADNOCs success, helping to ensure that its capital projects are not only delivered on time and within budget but also positioned for long-term resilience and growth in a dynamic industry.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Strategic Project Intelligence: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for project intelligence, encompassing market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and industry trend identification to inform strategic decisions.
  • Data Analytics: Lead data collection, analysis, and interpretation of project-related information, financial metrics, and performance indicators to provide actionable insights.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments for capital projects, utilizing historical data and market conditions to anticipate challenges and establish mitigation strategies.
  • Competitor Analysis: Monitor and analyze competitor activities, benchmarking ADNOCs projects against industry best practices to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and finance professionals, ensuring project intelligence aligns with organizational goals.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Develop and maintain a robust reporting framework, including dashboards and reports, to effectively communicate project intelligence findings to stakeholders.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on market developments, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in the oil and gas industry to inform project strategies.
  • Resource Optimization: Provide recommendations for resource allocation based on project intelligence, enhancing overall project efficiency.
  • Knowledge Management: Establish a knowledge-sharing platform to disseminate project intelligence and best practices within ADNOC and its Group Companies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance project management processes, tools, and methodologies based on insights derived from project intelligence.
  • Budget Oversight: Manage the budget allocated for project intelligence activities, ensuring cost-effective delivery of services.
  • Talent Development: Foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the project intelligence team, facilitating skill development and knowledge transfer.

Supervision

  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

Budgets

  • Provide input for preparation of the Function/Division/Department/Section budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver objectives.
  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Implement approved Function/Division/Department/Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Performance Management

  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Function/Division/Department/ Section in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Reports

  • Provide inputs to prepare Function/Division/Department/Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal

  • SVP, VPs within the Group Project Governance & Excellence.
  • VP, Business Line Directorates
  • VP Projects in all Businesses
  • Any other Directorate / Unit as required.
  • ADNOC Group Companies.

External

  • Shareholders, counterparts & members of the ADNOC Group, as required.
  • Local and international vendors, contractors, and third-party service providers.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management / Engineering / Science; or relevant disciplines with supporting experience.
  • MBA

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

  • Minimum 20 years relevant experience in NOCs/IOCs or EPC(M) companies, including at least 2 years in addressing technical discipline challenges as Expert / Principal / Discipline Technical Authority.
  • Major Project Management / Engineering Experience is essential.
  • Good knowledge and experience in Project Management and Engineering systems
