Role Overview

We are seeking a Solution Architect with strong pre‑sales and solution‑shaping experience to lead the definition, positioning, and articulation of enterprise‑grade digital, data, and AI solutions during the sales and pursuit lifecycle.

This role focuses on translating customer business challenges into compelling, feasible, and differentiated solution architectures. The Solution Architect works closely with sales, business development, delivery leaders, and technical architects to ensure proposed solutions are commercially viable, technically sound, and aligned with delivery capabilities.

The role requires strong communication skills, customer engagement experience, and the ability to balance innovation with pragmatism across architecture, cost, risk, and delivery considerations.

Responsibilities

• Pre‑Sales Solution Architecture & Shaping
• Own the end‑to‑end solution architecture during the pre‑sales lifecycle, from opportunity qualification through proposal and customer presentation.
• Translate customer business requirements, constraints, and success metrics into high‑level solution architectures.
• Define solution scope, assumptions, dependencies, and constraints in collaboration with sales and delivery teams.
• Ensure alignment between business outcomes, technical approach, and commercial structure.
• Architecture Definition & Conceptual Design
• Produce functional and technical architecture covering:
• Application and platform architecture
• Data, analytics, and AI solution approaches
• Integration patterns and APIs
• Infrastructure (cloud, hybrid, on‑premise where applicable)
• Security and compliance considerations
• Select and position appropriate technologies, platforms, and services aligned with customer context and enterprise standards.
• Ensure proposed architectures are scalable, secure, and delivery‑ready, with a clear transition path to detailed design.
• Commercial, Costing & Risk Alignment
• Support effort estimation, cost modelling, and pricing inputs in collaboration with delivery and finance teams.
• Identify technical risks, assumptions, and mitigation strategies early in the sales cycle.
• Balance solution quality, cost, timeline, and risk to support competitive and profitable proposals.
• Contribute to solution differentiation and value propositions.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Storytelling
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, engaging effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Lead solution walkthroughs, architecture presentations, and technical Q&A sessions.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and confidently to non‑technical audiences.
• Support executive‑level discussions when required.
• Proposal & Transition Support
• Provide technical leadership for RFP/RFI responses, proposals, and Statements of Work (SoWs).
• Ensure architectural consistency across written proposals, diagrams, and presentations.
• Collaborate with Technical Architects and delivery teams to ensure smooth handover from pre‑sales to delivery.
• Remain engaged during early delivery phases to validate architectural intent and assumptions.
  

• 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, pre‑sales architecture, or senior technical consulting roles.
• Strong experience working within sales or bid environments, supporting opportunities from shaping to closure.
• Proven ability to design and present enterprise‑grade solutions across digital, data, cloud, and AI domains.
• Solid experience with:
• Data centre and air-gapped environment
• Cloud and hybrid infrastructure architectures
• Enterprise integration patterns and APIs
• Data platforms and analytics solutions
• AI/ML solutions at an architectural or solution‑delivery level
• Embed security‑by‑design across all solution components
• Clear communication with engineering teams, leadership, and external partners.
