Job Description
We're looking for an experienced Senior Resident Engineer to join our organization in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role, you will oversee large-scale construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring exceptional quality, regulatory compliance, and on-time delivery. As a key leader on our team, you'll drive innovation, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver outstanding results while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and safety.
- Lead and supervise on-site engineering teams with decisiveness and clarity, ensuring efficient project execution and strict adherence to timelines and budgets
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of workmanship, materials, and construction methodologies to maintain quality standards and full compliance with project specifications and UAE building codes
- Coordinate effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges, streamline processes, and ensure seamless project success
- Review, analyze, and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and change orders with meticulous attention to detail and regulatory requirements
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources strategically, implementing innovative solutions to overcome obstacles and optimize efficiency
- Ensure strict adherence to UAE building codes, safety regulations, environmental standards, and local compliance requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, enhance communication, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
- Implement and oversee sustainable construction practices and LEED certification processes, demonstrating commitment to environmental responsibility
- Utilize advanced BIM technology to enhance project visualization, coordination, and overall efficiency
- Mentor and develop junior engineers with a supportive and inclusive approach, fostering professional growth and organizational resilience
- Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation for stakeholders, communicating complex information with clarity and precision
- Adapt to changing project requirements with flexibility and resilience, implementing customized solutions that align with organizational goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in building engineering and large-scale project management
- Proven track record successfully overseeing complex building projects in the Middle East region
- In-depth knowledge of UAE construction standards, regulations, building codes, and best practices
- Strong expertise in building development, construction methodologies, and quality control processes
- Advanced project management skills, including budget management, schedule optimization, and resource allocation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail and precision
- Outstanding leadership and team management capabilities with proven mentoring experience
- Strong technical writing and communication skills, with ability to prepare comprehensive reports and presentations
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Willingness to work on-site and travel as required for project needs
- Proficiency with BIM technology and construction management software
- Expertise in shop drawing review, material submittal processes, and change order management
- Knowledge of safety management, compliance oversight, and regulatory adherence
