Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry and demonstrate exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the financial and contractual aspects of our large-scale projects. You will be responsible for cost estimation, contract administration, and engaging with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires a high level of accuracy, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Responsibilities

  • Lead project cost management and provide strategic advice to ensure budget adherence.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for large-scale construction projects.
  • Evaluate and analyze project data to ensure financial objectives are achieved.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers effectively.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess and mitigate project risks and opportunities.
  • Liaise with project managers to provide financial advice and project updates.
  • Review and approve payment claims and invoices from contractors and suppliers.
  • Prepare and present detailed project progress reports for stakeholders and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and legal regulations in all projects.
  • Mentor and support junior quantity surveying staff for professional development.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess work progress and monitor quality standards.
  • Utilize advanced software tools for project planning, evaluation, and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in quantity surveying in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Proficient in using industry-standard software for cost estimation and project management.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Professional membership in RICS or a similar industry-recognized body is preferred.
