We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in cost estimation, project management, and contract administration to our projects, contributing to the successful delivery of construction endeavors. This role demands exceptional analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, ensuring every project is completed within budget and adheres to high-quality standards. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in guiding and coordinating the surveyor team while collaborating closely with other stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies. We are looking for someone who can leverage their extensive industry knowledge to foresee challenges, propose innovative solutions, and drive project success.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying activities.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and conduct rigorous cost planning for construction projects.
  • Lead the preparation, analysis, and negotiation of tenders and contracts with clients and contractors.
  • Monitor project expenditures and ensure effective cost control throughout project lifecycles.
  • Conduct risk assessment and management to mitigate potential financial discrepancies and hazards.
  • Develop detailed project documentation, including cost reports, contracts, and progress reports.
  • Liaise with project managers to ensure cost-effective project completion within agreed budgets and timelines.
  • Evaluate and track changes to project design and construction work, adjusting budgets as necessary.
  • Foster strong relationships with external contractors, suppliers, and clients to facilitate successful project outcomes.
  • Oversee the resolution of disputes and claims, employing negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Guide and mentor junior surveyors, providing technical assistance and professional development support.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, legal requirements, and safety regulations in all surveying tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a quantity surveying role, with significant leadership exposure.
  • Proven expertise in cost estimation, budget management, and contract administration.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate detailed reports.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage diverse stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools, such as CostX, PlanSwift, or similar.
  • Professional certification or chartered status with a recognized body (e.g., RICS) is highly desirable.
