Senior Officer Operations Data And Analytics

The Senior Officer – Operations Data & Analytics is responsible for the end-to-end development and delivery of high-quality data, analytics, and reporting solutions that support airport operational performance. The role applies data governance principles, independently manages analytical workstreams, develops advanced reporting tools using Power BI and Databricks, and serves as a technical reference point within the team.

As part of the Airport Management Centre (AMC), the role supports:

• Operations Planning through performance analysis and operational planning.
• Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC) through operational monitoring and decision support.
• Operations Data & Analytics through data quality management, reporting, analytics, and tool development.

The position focuses on delivering timely insights, improving operational efficiency, enhancing data quality, and supporting informed decision-making across Abu Dhabi Airports operations.

Responsibilities

Operational Data Quality Management

• Lead reconciliation and validation of monthly aeronautical billing datasets.
• Identify, analyze, and report on operational performance metrics such as: 
  • On-Time Performance (OTP)
  • Stand utilization
  • GPU/PCA connectivity
  • Passenger processing
  • Baggage performance
• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for operational data and performance measurement.
• Provide technical support and guidance on complex data-related issues.
• Develop and maintain data repositories, data dictionaries, and source mappings.
• Document AODB data flows and system integrations.
• Ensure operational datasets are accurate, complete, and fit for purpose.
• Continuously improve reports, dashboards, data models, and processes.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual workflows.

Operations Data & Analytics Governance

• Design and implement automated data quality monitoring and anomaly detection solutions.
• Develop analytics solutions using Databricks and SQL frameworks.
• Maintain operational databases and Databricks environments.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and access controls are maintained.
• Design and optimize database schemas and data structures.
• Promote metadata management, data cataloging, indexing, and data lineage tracking.

Operations Reporting, Analytics & Tools

• Analyze operational data and convert findings into actionable management insights.
• Develop and deliver high-quality reports and dashboards.
• Respond to stakeholder data requests within agreed service levels.
• Build new analytical capabilities, including: 
  • AI-assisted analytics
  • Predictive models
  • Automation solutions
• Conduct complex analysis using data from: 
  • AODB
  • FIDS
  • BHS
  • Resource planning systems
  • Third-party operational systems
• Monitor KPIs, identify trends, and recommend performance improvements.

Requirements & Skills

Education

• Bachelors Degree in: 
  • Computer Science
  • Data Analytics
  • Information Systems
  • Statistics
  • Mathematics
  • Engineering
  • Or another relevant numerical discipline

Experience

• 4-5 years of experience in a data analytics or reporting role.
• Preferably within aviation or a complex operational environment.
• Proven experience delivering analytical projects independently.
• Experience integrating and analyzing large datasets from multiple systems.
• Hands-on experience with: 
  • Power BI
  • SQL
  • Databricks and/or Python
