Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Officer in Credit Control to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company's credit policy, ensuring compliance with credit regulations, and minimizing credit risk exposure. Key responsibilities include evaluating customer credit applications, establishing credit limits, and monitoring overdue accounts. The Senior Officer will also be required to communicate effectively with customers to resolve any credit issues and coordinate with the sales team to develop strategies for credit improvement. The successful candidate should have a proven track record in credit control, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. A minimum of 5 years experience in credit control or a related field is required, along with a Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related discipline. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement credit control policies and procedures.
  • Analyze credit data and financial statements to determine credit worthiness of customers.
  • Monitor customer accounts for non-payment and delayed payments.
  • Negotiate payment plans with customers to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts.
  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions with customers regarding credit control.
  • Review and assess credit limits for new and existing customers.
  • Prepare reports on credit control performance and outstanding debts for management.
  • Communicate with sales and other internal teams to resolve customer payment issues.
  • Work closely with legal teams for debt recovery or legal action if necessary.
  • Stay current on industry best practices and regulations related to credit control.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit control or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis and risk assessment.
  • Excellent knowledge of credit policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
