ROLE PURPOSE

As the Mobility Senior Architect at Space42, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing cloud-based mobility solutions to support the companys autonomous vehicle, connected mobility, and smart transit initiatives. This role requires expertise in Microsoft Azure, cloud architecture, and scalable computing infrastructure for mobility services. Reporting to the Mobility Operations Director, you will ensure that our cutting-edge cloud solutions are secure, resilient, and optimized for real-time mobility data processing.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, high-availability cloud infrastructure for mobility services on Microsoft Azure.
• Develop multi-cloud strategies for data storage, compute resources, and security.
• Optimize real-time data processing pipelines for autonomous mobility operations.
• Ensure cloud solutions are cost-effective, secure, and compliant with industry standards.
• Architect cloud-based platforms for connected vehicles, IoT devices, and mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) platforms.
• Implement V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) communication frameworks using cloud-based networks.
• Lead integration of cloud services with AI-driven mobility analytics, telematics, and geospatial applications.
• Oversee APIs and microservices to support cross-platform mobility operations.
• Develop and enforce cloud security best practices, ensuring data privacy and protection.
• Implement identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and zero-trust architecture in Azure cloud environments.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST, and mobility sector regulations.
• Continuously monitor and optimize cloud performance, uptime, and scalability.
• Work closely with Mobility Operations, AI/ML teams, and software engineers to refine cloud solutions.
• Collaborate with fleet management, telematics, and data analytics teams to improve cloud-based insights.
• Partner with Microsoft Azure and third-party vendors to leverage best-in-class cloud solutions.
• Provide technical leadership on cloud adoption, automation, and DevOps strategies.
• Research and integrate emerging cloud technologies, edge computing, and 5G for smart mobility.
• Drive innovation in AI-driven cloud computing for predictive mobility insights.
• Develop cloud disaster recovery and failover strategies for mission-critical AV operations.
• Contribute to the companys digital transformation roadmap, ensuring cloud scalability for future growth.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, DevOps, or mobility cloud solutions.
• Expertise in Microsoft Azure, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure IoT Hub, and Azure Functions.
• Strong background in cloud security, IAM, and compliance frameworks.
• Proven experience in scaling real-time data processing in cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with API development, microservices architecture, and cloud automation tools.
  
  

Additional Requirements

• An MBA is a plus.
• Microsoft Azure Certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer).
• Experience working with connected vehicle platforms, IoT infrastructure, or autonomous vehicle data.
• Strong knowledge of AI, ML, and predictive analytics in cloud environments.
• Background in serverless computing, event-driven architectures, and edge computing.
