Senior Mechanical Engineer (Buildings & Infrastructure) – UAE

As part of our continued growth in the UAE, we are expanding our Engineering team to support a strong pipeline of multidisciplinary projects. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex mechanical systems across buildings, infrastructure, and industrial developments.

This is a leadership role combining technical excellence, project delivery, and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of mechanical engineering systems across all project stages (concept, detailed design, construction, and commissioning).
  • Ensure compliance with UAE regulations and international standards (e.g., ASHRAE, IPC).
  • Drive design quality through technical reviews, calculations, simulations, and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Utilize advanced modelling and digital tools (Revit, BIM workflows, energy modelling platforms).
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, and specialist teams to ensure integrated design delivery.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and performance assessments to ensure alignment with design intent.
  • Support project managers in tracking progress, managing risks, and maintaining delivery timelines.
  • Engage directly with clients—presenting solutions, resolving challenges, and building long-term relationships.
  • Contribute to innovation initiatives, sustainability strategies, and digital engineering improvements.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 8–12 years’ experience in mechanical engineering, specifically within building services services in the UAE.
  • Proven experience delivering complex projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • HVAC design and energy-efficient systems
    • Mechanical plant design and equipment selection
    • Piping systems and system integration
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools:
    • AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), IES, HAP, and mechanical calculation software
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • UAE authority regulations and approval processes
    • International codes (ASHRAE, IPC, NFPA where applicable)
  • Experience in preparing:
    • Technical reports and specifications
    • Feasibility studies
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and smart building integration.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery frameworks in the UAE.

Preferred Attributes

  • Chartered Engineer status or working toward professional accreditation.
  • Experience on large-scale or high-profile developments in the UAE or GCC.
  • Exposure to sustainability frameworks (LEED, Estidama, Net Zero strategies).
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary consultancy environments.
